Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO):

  • CNG Cylinder Hydro Test Must be done every 3 years
  • Testing must be done at a PESO-approved cylinder testing station
  • After passing, a new test date is stamped on cylinder

Without valid hydro test:
RTO can reject fitness certificate Vehicle may be fined Insurance claim can be rejected in accident cases

Fitness Certificate (Commercial Vehicles)

For commercial CNG vehicles:
🔹Annual fitness inspection by RTO

They check:
🔹CNG kit approval
🔹Cylinder test validity
🔹Leakage
🔹Mounting safety

Private CNG Vehicles

🔹No yearly fitness required (for first 15 years)
🔹But cylinder hydro test every 3 years is compulsory
⚠️ If Hydro Test Expired

Vehicle can be:
🔹Fined under Motor Vehicles Act
🔹Seized in serious cases
🔹Challan during traffic checking
